What you'll need: DeskJet 2755e printer, a 2.4GHz WiFi network, your WiFi password, and a Windows or Mac computer (or smartphone).

Method 1: Using the printer setup app App (Recommended)

The printer setup app is the easiest and most reliable way to set up your DeskJet 2755e. It walks you through each step automatically.

Step 1 – Prepare the Printer

  • Remove all packaging tape from inside and outside the printer
  • Open the cartridge access door and install both ink cartridges (they click into place)
  • Load plain white paper into the input tray
  • Connect the power cord and press the Power button
  • The printer will print an alignment page automatically — set this aside

Step 2 – Download printer setup app

On your computer, go to support.hp.com and download the printer setup app for Windows or macOS. On iPhone or Android, search "printer setup app" in the App Store or Google Play and install it.

Step 3 – Add Your Printer in printer setup app

  1. Open printer setup app after installation
  2. Sign in with your printer app account or create one (free)
  3. Click or tap the "+" (Add Printer) button
  4. printer setup app will search for nearby printers — make sure the DeskJet 2755e is powered on
  5. When your printer appears in the list, select it

Step 4 – Connect to WiFi

  1. printer setup app will prompt you to connect the printer to your WiFi network
  2. Select your home WiFi network from the list (use 2.4GHz, not 5GHz)
  3. Enter your WiFi password when prompted
  4. The printer's WiFi light will stop blinking and stay solid blue when connected

Step 5 – Print a Test Page

In printer setup app, click Print and then Test Print. If it prints cleanly, your setup is complete. Congratulations!

Method 2: WPS Button Setup (No App Needed)

If your router has a WPS button, you can connect the printer to WiFi without using the printer setup app or entering a password.

  1. On the DeskJet 2755e, press and hold the Wireless button for 3 seconds. The wireless light will begin to blink blue.
  2. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router. (It's usually on the back and labeled "WPS")
  3. The printer's wireless light will stop blinking and stay solid blue — this means it's connected.
  4. On your Windows PC, go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners → Add device.
  5. Wait for the DeskJet 2755e to appear, then click Add.
  6. Windows will automatically install the driver. Print a test page from Printer Properties → Print Test Page.
WPS not working? Some routers have WPS disabled in their settings. Log into your router's admin page (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) and check if WPS is enabled. If you're unable to enable it, use Method 1 instead.
